    Description

    This coin is a beautiful and under-appreciated rarity. Consider a few of the traits that make it so unique. The low mintage of 1,830 pieces makes this rare by any standard, combined with the low survival of these coins -- this is one of approximately 57 survivors. These coins are also difficult to find with the level of detail you see here. While NGC gives the cleaning designation, this coin appears to be a strong AU and certainly has better eye appeal than other XF coins out there. The price guides are of little help in giving an accurate picture of value because so few of these coins are seen at auction. Despite the rather harsh grading by NGC, this is a superb and very unique rare coin.
