    1878-CC Gold Coin NGC AU-53
    Attractive yellow-gold surfaces that exhibit ample remnant luster and a strong strike. The look is far cleaner than would be expected. Marks are few and minor with none of significance. The 1878-CC is among the rarest eagles from not only the Carson City Mint but in the entire eagle series. Of 3,244 pieces minted, only a scant 60-75 pieces are believed to still survive. Only 12 pieces have graded finer at NGC with the highest graded being a single MS-61 example. Pieces seldom turn up and are avidly sought when they appear. A prime selection and addition to any advanced collection.
