Large napkin like material - Souvenir in Commemoration of the Opening of the Empire Exhibition Opening At Wembley By H.M. The King.The Empire On Which The Sun Never Sets
An interesting estate find, presumably purchased or given out as a souvenir from the opening day of the exhibition itself as the item reads "The official owning of the British Empire Exhibition wil take place to-day April 23, 1924."
Article continues - "The Exhibition wil be opened by the King, accompanied by the Queen. The ceremony will be a full-dress one, the Royal procession arriving in State carriages prior to entering the Exhibition grounds.
The Majesties will be presented with an address by the Wembley Urban District Council.
The gates of the Exhibition still be opened at 9:30 a.m., and the opening ceremony itself will take place in the stadium at"
