SERIGRAPH PRINT OF 1973 US OPEN TENNIS FINALS  HILLS BY CZECH IMPRESSIONIST, KAMIL KUBIKThis event was between tennis stars Jimmy Connors and Bjorn Borg and is excellent condition.  The print is signed in pencil by the artist.  KAMIL KUBIK, famous international impressionist, had been named the Official Artist for several US OPEN events in tennis and also in Golf.  Along with this print, I am selling a rare and limited poster of the 1981 print of the 100th Anniversary of the United States Tennis Association and the US OPEN.  You might enjoy owning this print or either of the other 2 I have that feature the game of TENNIS.  Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and I have written some of my background with Kamil below so you can feel comfortable buying from me.  What an amazing gift this would make for someone who has a connection to this sport or these athletes.   Kamil and I were close friends and I have a huge amount of his art to sell.   If you have no interest in this particular subject then please keep checking.   I will be posting more prints and a few originals which are quite rare. I have a vast amount of gorgeous WALL STREET / STOCK MARKET, WASHINGTON DC, NEW YORK CITY, BOSTON, OTHER TENNIS, US OPEN GOLF themed prints .....and so many more subjects as well.BACKGROUND  I met Kamil while working for the State of New Jersey.  We had an idea to find a talented artist who might accept a project that would memorialize some of the State's most recognizable....interesting locations.  The collection would ultimately hang inside the State Capitol Building where it would remain for years to come.  We had a friend who owned a collection of paintings by a rather well known Czech Impressionist, Kamil Kubik.  A lunch was arranged for us to meet and the rest is history.  I immediately adored this artist, his temperament and above all else, his work.  My mother was Czech so Kamil and I had an immediate connection that turned into a lifelong friendship.  He gladly accepted the project and once it ended (which took almost 10 years since we commissioned only one painting  per year)  Kamil, his wife Joanna and I continued to maintain a strong friendship.  We visited often and occasionally shared holidays.  Kamil was an extremely accomplished artist but not so great a businessman so I began helping him to market his work.  It was during those years that he began to give me  some of his more popular prints and a few of his originals as well.  I love almost everything Kamil created and deciding what to part with has been extremely difficult.  Each one reminds me of Kamil.  He was truly a wonderful person, spoke 5 languages and loved New York City.  He did projects for the NY YANKEES,  DONALD TRUMP,  WALL STREET ORGANIZATIONS,  THE PLAZA HOTEL and he created a world wide series of paintings of hotels for THE RITZ CARLTON HOTEL organization.  He was discovered in New York by First Lady Barbara Bush.  Everyone, it seemed, loved Kamil's easy, impressionistic style.  He could create a complete piece of art in an afternoon but would also continue to work on it FOREVER.  He never felt like his work was finished.   As always, he would start his day with a swim at the local Y, practice his YOGA and then begin working in his studio.  Sadly, on a particular Fall morning, he suffered a serious stroke that left him paralyzed and ultimately in need of 24 hour care.  It was a devastating turn for this man who had lived such a strong, active and healthy life.  He continued selling most of the art he had created before eventually developing pneumonia and in 2011, quietly passing away.  I had continued to help him during that horrifying time and was blessed to be the person sitting with him on the evening he died.  I still miss him terribly but am surrounded by this beautiful art which keeps him and his spirit present.  The WORLD CUP SOCCER hangs in my kitchen and is a favorite of both of my sons.  My husband is a Veteran and loves THE BATTLESHIP NEW JERSEY which was part of the NJ series I had commissioned him for so long ago.  We all love THE NY YANKEES, CAPE MAY,  THE BARNEGAT LIGHTHOUSE, the NJ STATE HOUSE and more.   I have the original painting of THE MORRISTOWN GREEN which is exceptional. And then there are the majestic WASHINGTON DC subjects that Kamil painted because of his close friendship with First Lady BARBARA BUSH and PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH.  THE INAUGURATION may be Kamil's finest work along with the US CAPITOL and more.  I know this is long....but I want people to know who Kamil was, what he did and how much I loved being a part of his life.  Please ask any questions, I am happy to try to help if possible.   I promise you will love anything you buy of Kamil Kubik's work and for sure, he would love that you wanted something he created.  I'm sure he is still painting somewhere!!!  :)
