???-1, 9 tube with tuning eye,  Radio, 1936. Painted cabinet.  Chassis has some wear, speaker good. Cabinet is solid. A good restoreable unit.
This highly collectable radio is made in USSR the 36's .

Since the fall of 1936, the network tube radio receiver "SVD-1" has been produced by the Aleksandrovsky plant No. 3 NKS. The radio receiver "SVD-1" (Network, All-wave, with a speaker, 1st serial model) was developed by the specialists of the American firm RCA in the summer of 1936, based on the receiver "RCA-140". A delegation of Soviet specialists was present for six months to monitor the development and procurement of components in the United States. As a result, by the fall of 1936, the main components were purchased for the start of mass production of the SVD-1 receivers in the USSR. The purchased components were enough for the production of five thousand radio receivers. For the release of more radios, the missing components were planned to be made independently. The release was designed for 20 thousand SVD-1 radios, but about 10 thousand were produced, The network all-wave radio receiver of the first class `` SVD-1 '' was equipped with American radio tubes. Attempts to replace lamps with domestic ones did not have much success, such cases were quite rare and were advisory in nature when repairing the receiver. The radio receiver has 4 wave ranges: "A" - long waves 150 ... 400 kHz, "B" - medium waves 540 ... 1500 kHz, "D" - short waves 1: 3.3..9 MHz, "D "- short waves 2: 8.5 ... 18 MHz. The intermediate range of 77 ... 200 meters was absent in this model. The overlap at the edges of the ranges is 10% of the frequency. Rated output power 2.5 W, maximum 7 W. The frequency range of the factory-designed loudspeaker is 80 ... 5000 Hz. The dimensions of the receiver are 560x360x290 mm. Power supply is transformer from a network of 110, 127, 220 V. Power consumption is 80 W. The receiver is assembled in a varnished wooden case. Control knobs 4. The first is the A-B-D-D range switch, then the setting and volume. Bottom knob - HF timbre combined with the mains switch. The radio "SVD-1" was produced until the fall of 1937,
